Rain and disasters
The first real rains in many months have struck the Southern California coast line and it's not over. It is our form of winter. Rain tapping against the window, wind bending the trees and water running down the streets. How nice.
I've stayed in all day but now am getting ready to go out to a dinner with friends from church. No big deal... just an outing.
I have tried to imagine what it would be like if all this rain came down in the form of snow. We'd be digging out for weeks.
Reminds me ... the horrible events in Haiti. Could I survive such horrible circumstances? I suppose I could but it is hard to imagine.

There is a Face book movement or challenge for EVERYONE to donate 1 to 5 dollars to the Red Cross in the name of Haiti. If everyone just skipped that morning stop at Starbucks...We could really help. Johnny and I rich by no means gave $5.00...This is EPIC...We must help. Have we learned nothing from 911, Katrina, the Indonesian tsunami?
Lets just send $1.00 to $5.00. I know times are hard..I just got layed off Friday...So what. I have my family safe, a roof over my head and stable ground to walk on. To dad's readers , Don't go to bed tonight without donating 1-5 dollars to the Red Cross. If you don't, You may not sleep very well.
